| Upon further investigation, I discovered that the first noble Stewart (married into the Gillespie family came from Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire. Interested in this connection to the Perthshire Stewarts-Gillespies. Mg gr-gr-gr grandparents were James Stewart and Agnes Gillespie. They married in Glasgow, Scotland in 1814. This family's descendants changed their names to Howard and moved from Kincardine Ontario to the U.S. Charles Stewart aka Charles Howard was the owner of Seabiscuit the racing horse. |
