I am trying to find if there is a Malcolm McNaughtan, father of Janet McNaughtan, he born about 1720-40, she the wife of Duncan McGregor of Balquhidder. Has anyone got back that far? Her marriage record in the OPR of 1773 says she is from Killin.
I am also trying to find more about the McNaughtans of Dowally Parish Perthshire and the couple John McNaughton and Isabella Caddall there, circa 1760's.

I suspect you may have your forums mixed up. This is the Stewarts of Balquhidder forum. It is for discussions related to Stewart families from the Balquhidder area.
However, I personally happen to host a McNaughton forum which is located here:

Your question would be better posted on the McNaughton forum where other McNaughton researchers may read it.

Ryk, I remember reading a post from Elizabeth on this subject on your other Forum, but I had an idea that she had also mentioned a Stewart connection.
Is that right, Elizabeth? Do you suspect a Stewart link to your family? If so it would be appropriate to describe it here and open the topic for discussion.

My reply to her there, as well as here, was to redirect her to the McNaughton forum:
I don't see any mention of a Stewart connection. However, if there is one, I would certainly encourage Elizabeth to share it with us.
