I was remiss in my earlier postings in not thanking you Rik for all the work you have done for all us McNaughton descendants. The history you have provided is amazing. I am going to add the Manitoba branches as I get information confirmed. Here is a rough outline of how the families fit together. Jessie Little McNaughton was my grandmother. That family is giving me trouble - I'll have to come back to Ontario again - the only family that matches in the census records (Teeswater area) is spelled Littel and why is her second name spelled Liddell??
A composite history with names and dates taken from three family histories. Dates confirmed by census and DVS where possible.
Kenneth McKenzie b abt 1823 Scotland married Jane Condy b abt 1824. They raised their family in Puslinch Township, Ontario.
They came to the Portage la Prairie area of Manitoba in 1865. Son Adam followed in 1867.
Catherine McKenzie b abt 1846
Adam McKenzie born 22 March 1848, Puslinch, Ontario – died 25 October 1926 Burnside, Manitoba
Ann McKenzie b abt 1850
Kenneth McKenzie b abt 1852
James McKenzie b abt 1854
William McKenzie b abt 1856
Jane McKenzie b abt 1862
Elizabeth McKenzie b abt 1864
John McKenzie b abt 1866
Adam married (12 March 1872) Catherine McEachern 25 Feb 1854 – 6 Aug 1887
They had at Oberon, MB:
Kenneth 5 Jan 1873 – 1885
Neil 5 Mar 1874 – 1885
Betsy (Bessie) 28 Jun 1875 – 22 Apr 1974
Tom 23 Jun 1882 – 15 May 1966
Adam Jr. 26 Nov 1883 – 22 Feb 1959
After Catherine died Adam returned to Ontario and married (12 Feb 1889) Elizabeth McNaughton at Portage MB
They had:
Jean Stirton 13 Mar 1891
And twins that died at 5 months
After Elizabeth died in 1905, Adam again married, this time to Margaret (Mrs. Alex) McLean on 9 Jan 1907.
Peter and Janet (McLeod) McNaughton came from Scotland to Puslinch Township in 1831 with family: John, Angus, Peter, Daniel, Jean, Margaret, Hugh, Janet, Malcolm, Alexander.
Son Hugh (1815 – 1885) married Elizabeth Stirton (1816 – 1906) and raised a family [Peter, Margaret, Janet, James, Daniel, Hugh, David, Elizabeth, Henrietta] in Puslinch Township.
David (24 Aug 1855) went with his sister Elizabeth and Adam McKenzie to Manitoba. He married Elizabeth Taylor Robb 25 Mar 1891: this union produced two daughters. Elizabeth died shortly after the birth of the second child and Dave then married Catherine Ann Stewart 23 Aug 1899.
Henrietta kept house for David in Bruce County and after Hugh died in 1885, sister Elizabeth and their mother came to live with him. Henrietta married Hugh Cameron in 1887. The Camerons moved to Manitoba and stayed with Dave until he married. They stayed in the RM of Langford for a while but moved to the Russell area where they show in the 1906 census,
Elizabeth Stirton McNaughton is shown with the McKenzies in 1891 and with the Camerons in 1901. She is buried in Russell.
Jean McNaughton came from Teeswater, Ontario in 1897 to live with her aunt, Mrs. Adam McKenzie. Her family [mother Jessie (Little) McNaughton, three brothers and two sisters] followed in 1898. Father James McNaughton died 1893 and is buried in Teeswater. Jessie was escorted (by a son) back to Teeswater for burial after her death in 1932.

Allan
I'm glad you found the site to be helpful. Thanks very much for the additional information. I have made a note of it on the McNaughton of Puslinch page and hope to get this information added to the database and webpage as soon as possible.
Thanks again.
