I don't know if this helps shed any light on the early Stewarts in Glenfinglas? I don't see these people mentioned on that page but may be wrong.... interesting in any event I think..

Again, another great find! Thanks!

Gordon mentions this bond of manrent in some of his correspondence to us, but I don't think we had the description before:
Quote:

The Stewarts mentioned are:
1. Allester Stewart in Ardvurlich = Alexander Stewart, 1st of Ardvorlich
2. Allester McKea Ane Stewart in Glenfinglas = Alexander MacIain Stewart, subsequently 1st of Annat.
3. Duncan McRobert Stewart in Stronvar = Duncan McRobert Stewart, latterly 3rd of Glenogle.
4. John Dow Stewart in Glenfinglas = John Dow Mor Stewart, 6th of Glenbuckie.
5. Andrew Stewart of Blairgarrie = Andrew Stewart, 2nd of Blairgarrie.

Interesting, other than Alexander of Ardvorlich and John Dow of Glenbuckie, the other three are all cadets of Gartnafuaran.
