so I was reading the repast rules and I am just wondering if we are doing English breakfast both mornings at all faires, or if we can do E.B (English breakfast) one morning and muffins or some other equally tasty breakfast treat the other, or just do tasty breakfast treats like bagels and muffins with jams and spreads for both mornings.

I only ask because getting enough bacon to feed everyone (IE Jason and the rest of the bacon lovers) would be rather pricey and I know that at this exact moment in time I am spending as little as possible because of the current economy. And also waking up early on Sunday morning might be hard for some of us after Saturday night...

what are peoples thoughts on this?

So, I know there are people who are absolutely in love with bacon and all, but let's be realistic. We should only be planning a couple slices of bacon per person. That way it does cut down on the cost.

It does bring up a good point and my fear on the 2 day EB. That means quite possibly 4 packs of bacon, that's $24 in Bacon alone unless you buy shitty hormel bacon, then we get sick. For one day at current prices you'd be looking at.

Aiming for breakfast for 10. 8 adults, 2 kids
2 Packages of Bacon (16 to 22 slices/2-4 slices a person) $12 on sale
2 cans of beans (one of the primary ingredients in the meal) $10/$6 on sale
18 eggs (kids get skimped a touch on eggs) $5
1 loaf of period bread (Peasants loaf most likely, specialty) $5

That breaks down to $32 for one day, the bread might make it to the next day, some of the beans might as well, but keep in mind, it'd be much better to have a little too much food, than too little food. Asking people to drop that kind of cash on 2 days is a little extravagant.

Ok, so since it was broken down like that (I guess I just wasn't really thinking about cost) I've changed the rules to reflect someone signing up for EB on Sat and someone else on Sun.

I've also offered to cook the EB on Sunday, this season, for those who have fear of hangover, since I probably will be up early and can't drink, so therefore can't be hungover. Someone just has to buy all the stuff. Smile

again my thing is if I have to provide eb on saturday I am not going to provide it again on sunday. it is to damn expensive. I agree that the men need something more hearty for breakfast but I can't afford it.

Reread the post Laurel, that was the decision, one person provides Sat, one person provides Sun.

The idea is that one person takes sat. and another on sun.
